{Blogging Life} Ten Things They Don't Tell You About Blogging

10 things about blogging
  1. It can feel very narcissistic putting photos of yourself out into the internet
  2. It can be lonely tapping away on your computer at 2am
  3. It can be so frustrating when things don't go right
  4. Getting traffic takes loads of work and time and knowledge
  5. Taking photos of yourself can feel like an incredibly stupid thing to do
  6. Making enough money from blogging to live is probably not going to happen to any but a few
  7. Content doesn't magically appear out of thin air-it takes imagination
  8. Bloggers are the nicest people ever, but there are haters out there that can't be avoided
  9. No matter how many posts you read saying that you don't need a DSLR to have quality images, it isn't true. My posts taken with a friends DSLR have the highest traffic by far.
  10. All those advertisements on blogs probably don't make a lot of money for bloggers

  4. Ain't that the truth! LOL I realized that I don't take enough pictures of myself, but I feel so awkward.

I can't wait to buy a DSLR. I don't think I'll be able to buy my first DSLR new. I think I'm going to settle for a second hand one.

  6. I totally agree especially about the love, but there's certainly a lot of hate out there between bloggers. Also I don't think to be a good blogger you need to have a DSLR. I certainly don't have one and i've lots of really positive comments about my photo work. It's all good having a fancy camera but if you can't work it right its not going to help you at all.

    1. Absolutely Rachael, i agree that good quality photos can be taken with any camera, but for me personally, the posts that have had the most popularity and have been picked up by sites like hellocotton have been those with with DSLR images. Thanks for stopping by! x

  7. So true...about the 2 AM posting, driving traffic, the frustration and the dslr. I just got one for Christmas but am still learning. My photos with my iPhone and point & shoot are fine, especially outdoor shots (hard to take a bad shoot at the beach in Hawaii) but the ideas I have swimming around in my head for product closeups, vignettes, indoor design will be much better when I learn to shoot manual.

Found ya via JenKakio's shoutout to you.
