Pretty. 60 Second Outfit of the Day.

Ok. I know. I've been absent again after saying I'd be posting more often. I have all the best intentions, but I just haven't been feeling it of late. It's frustrating, but whatever, I'm here now. More importantly, I'm here with something a little different than usual. I'm a little youtube obsessed of late, something about the format just feels so accessible or something.  And with that in mind, I've made a quick little outfit of the day video. I plan on doing some vlogging around moving to London, so I wanted to start making some little videos now to build up my confidence. I hope you all like it...

Style. Mint Jeans and where have I been.

Jeans and Jumper from Kmart, Blazer from ASOS, Bag gifted from Chile', singlet top from Supre', scarf gifted

I am crazy in love with these jeans at the moment, and they were ridiculously cheap ($15 AUD) so that makes me love them even more! Would you judge me if I told you I had worn this exact outfit 2 days in a row? Oh well, I love my coloured jeans so judge away. I can't remember if I have shown this bag before, but it is my absolute favourite. My Mum got it in Chile' years ago from a vintage store and I basically nagged her until she gave it to me. It needs some stitching mended and a good coat of leather conditioner but I can't imagine not owning it!

So as I was taking these photos I realised I haven't actually done an outfit post since April sometime which makes me a very bad blogger indeed. So why the lack of outfits? I have been feeling particularly blech about myself which is not conducive to narcissistic blogger photos. Also, I have hardly bought any clothes in months and my wardrobe is pretty minimalist at the best of times. On top of that, I have had an incredibly busy and exciting few months which, however frustrating for me, hasn't left much time to blog.

I have finished my last teaching prac (Yay!), received my approval to teach (double Yay!!), started looking for casual teaching work, almost finished my uni degree (8 weeks to go!), got my British passport application sorted and last but definitely not least I have booked my ticket for London! (Quadruple bazillion Yay!!).

With all of that behind me I still have a fairly long slog until December when I leave for London; December 1st to be exact. I have too many assignments for uni and need loads of casual work to pay for this extravagant move overseas. I really hope I can keep blogging at least 3 times a week, but sometimes it just isn't going to happen. So don't miss me too much if I am a little absent sometimes, ok?

Style. 2 Broke Girls: Max Black.

I am a bit obsessed with this show at the moment. I think it could be easily dismissed as a lame sitcom, but upon watching it is pretty clever. And hilarious. AND snarky. ANNNDDD a little bit rude. I think it is a great show for 20 something women who say what they want and aren't prepared to take any crap from anyone. If you haven't seen it yet, basically it is about 2 broke girls, Max and Caroline, who are trying to start a cupcake making business. It is filled with anti-hipster jokes, social media cracks, and enough puns to make any modern lady happy. The writers must be clever 20 something women and trust me it will make you laugh.

Kat Dennings plays Max; I've been a fan of hers since Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and Charlie Bartlett. I love the way the costume department has dressed her. She always looks amazing and all her outfits complement her shape so well. I thought I'd bring together a few things inspired by Max, so here they are.

Style. Jubilee.

Queens Jubilee-RED

Queen's Jubilee-BLUE

Queen's Jubilee-WHITE

Are you all completely aware of my obsession with all things British? WELL I AM. Old Queeny Poo is having her Diamond Jubilee this weekend and I am on board (from afar) because although as an Australian the British Royals can be a tricky subject, I gotta give props to a lady that is pretty much never seen without a blazer and a fancy hat.

So well done on 60 years Liz.

Style. Floriade.

My garden is blooming at the moment; hundreds of pastel purple and neon pink flowers surround my house. It is making me all floral obsessed-I wish everything in my wardrobe was floral print! In fact, I don't think I own anything floral at the moment, which is odd. Oh well, I guess I will have to make do with looking at these loverly photos.

Style. Quick OOTD

I felt a bit pretty today so took a few quick pics for an outfit post, but I hated most of them! The few I let pass you can see here. I was having a busy day so was wearing my super comfy (and new) black skinny ASOS jeans and a nude top. I didn't even bother with my hair, which is a rarity for me.
I can't believe I start prac next monday; excited and nervous about it. I found out which classes I will have yesterday, and I will be teaching mostly outside my subject area which will be different. I will only have one textiles class, along with 2 food tech classes and a year 8 English. The next few days will be full of lesson and unit planning and preparing for next week. This time around I am thrown straight into it; no time to observe the classes and see how my mentor likes to run them, so that will be interesting (AKA scary!)
Hope everyone is having fun wherever you are,

Style. Icon. Edie Sedgwick.

// 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 //
"Everything that happened to me has been a paradox for life. The very things that I should have done would have been the trap. The very things I might have given into, that demanded, that said, this is your life. I mean, this is your only way to survive, are the things I found hardest to end. 'Cause I believed in something else. You have to work like mad to make people understand... Even if I don't make it, you know, I really insist on believing, and then I fall off the edge because there's nobody else to follow it. And I would just fall off the edge." Edie Sedgwick

Style. An Autumn Wardrobe via Pintrest

I tend to wear a lot of the same clothes in my day to day life; simple shapes that are comfortable and easy to wear. I guess my uniform this Autumn will be jeans and a blazer with the occasional exception of course. I went a little Pintrest mad this week pinning like crazy around a few key items I think are a must have for my wardrobe at the moment. Click through the images below to see my boards (and make sure you follow me so I can follow back!)

Style. What teachers wear.

Old fashioned teacher
//Via Here//
I have my last and final teaching practicum coming up in May; I can't tell you how excited I am. I haven't really talked about it much on here, but I love teaching. Teenagers are hilarious in my view and have rarely had any moments in the classroom that I really disliked. It's tough, sure, but for the most part I love it. Something about having my own little world in which I don't put up with nastiness or criticism is really appealing, and I adore the feeling of getting through to a kid with troubles.

Style. Black and Nude.

I always thought that nudes would really wash me out, but I think having plenty of colour in the face counteracts the shade of this ASOS top. It's the same as the black one I showed yesterday. The pants (although you can't see them at all! Damn dark background) are also ASOS. They are the most comfortable trousers I have ever worn. This will be one of my prac outfits, minus the red lip and dramatic winged liner I think.

I don't know if you can tell, but I totally gave myself a hair cut the other day (I know, shock horror right?) but it was very successful I think and has left my hair feeling fresher and lighter. I do miss the extra 2 inches of length but I'll cope.

Style. Stripes and Bunting.

So I have been pretty slack on the outfit post front lately. I just haven't been feeling it, you know? Plus I hate half my wardrobe and the other half you have already seen. I got this this simple top from ASOS in the post this week and I love it. It has a stretch back and a woven front so hangs beautifully-it will definitely be one of my staples for my up coming prac, which, incidentally, is less than a month away. All I can say is eek.

The skirt is an oldy, well last year old, from Kmart, and I haven't really worn it much. It is hard to find things that go well with it but I think this top works well. The necklace, be still my bunting loving heart, is also from ASOS and although it is shorter than I'd like I still love it.

Also, I have made a pact with myself that I will only do one London related post a week. If I don't follow this rule, it is all you will hear about and I'm sure that you don't come to hear about my moving plans (however exciting and life changing they may be!)

I am off to write an essay (eww) and start work on a new Photoshop tutorial (yay) and work out the logistics of a little surprise.

Life + Style. Memories

This is one of my favourite photos from my childhood. Me and my sister sitting on the front steps of our house after raiding the dress up box big time. We always had the most amazing clothes to choose from, most of which my Mum had made. I can't remember my Mum ever wearing heels, but these were hers so I guess she must have at some point; I'd kill for these diamond cutout nude ankle strap shoes now. I especially love the look  on my sisters face, it is feigned arrogance, we must have been pretending to be posh ladies. Posh ladies who wear hot pink socks with open toed shoes and garish 80s looking animal print purses that is.
