Pretty. 60 Second Outfit of the Day.

Ok. I know. I've been absent again after saying I'd be posting more often. I have all the best intentions, but I just haven't been feeling it of late. It's frustrating, but whatever, I'm here now. More importantly, I'm here with something a little different than usual. I'm a little youtube obsessed of late, something about the format just feels so accessible or something.  And with that in mind, I've made a quick little outfit of the day video. I plan on doing some vlogging around moving to London, so I wanted to start making some little videos now to build up my confidence. I hope you all like it...

Pretty. A London Wish list

So I hit the three month from my departure mark tomorrow and I sort of can't believe it. It feels so distant, yet as I start to get things sorted (my to do this is scarily long) it creeps ever closer. I am beyond excited to leave and part of me wishes I was off tomorrow, but the other part is glad to have these few months to organise myself and prepare! Perhaps the strangest part of my preparation is buying warm clothes. Not 'Australian' warm clothes, but 'oh my god my face is going to freeze off' winter wear. The strange part is that I leave at the beginning of December and here that means almost Summer weather and 30 C days! Even now, with the lovely spring weather, it feels wrong to be buying ear muffs and winter woolies. I really only want to buy a few basics from Australia, just enough to get me from the airport, to my accommodation and then out into London to explore (and possibly shop?). Here is my London Winter Wish List:

// 1.  Pieces Chunky Knit Scarf // 2. Gypsy Cable Knit Socks  // 3. ASOS Athens Leather Chelsea Ankle Boots // 4. ASOS Fit and Flare Coat //
// 5. ASOS Popper Parker // 6. Topshop Geo Panel Tote // 7.  Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream //

I guess most of the list is pretty self explanatory; I want comfy boots I can slip on and off easily without having to deal with laces or zips, a coat that will go over many layers, a new black bag that will fit loads and some intensive moisturising balm to help with dry skin caused by the cold.

91 days and counting...

Style. 2 Broke Girls: Max Black.

I am a bit obsessed with this show at the moment. I think it could be easily dismissed as a lame sitcom, but upon watching it is pretty clever. And hilarious. AND snarky. ANNNDDD a little bit rude. I think it is a great show for 20 something women who say what they want and aren't prepared to take any crap from anyone. If you haven't seen it yet, basically it is about 2 broke girls, Max and Caroline, who are trying to start a cupcake making business. It is filled with anti-hipster jokes, social media cracks, and enough puns to make any modern lady happy. The writers must be clever 20 something women and trust me it will make you laugh.

Kat Dennings plays Max; I've been a fan of hers since Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and Charlie Bartlett. I love the way the costume department has dressed her. She always looks amazing and all her outfits complement her shape so well. I thought I'd bring together a few things inspired by Max, so here they are.

Style. Icon. Edie Sedgwick.

// 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 //
"Everything that happened to me has been a paradox for life. The very things that I should have done would have been the trap. The very things I might have given into, that demanded, that said, this is your life. I mean, this is your only way to survive, are the things I found hardest to end. 'Cause I believed in something else. You have to work like mad to make people understand... Even if I don't make it, you know, I really insist on believing, and then I fall off the edge because there's nobody else to follow it. And I would just fall off the edge." Edie Sedgwick

Pretty. Photoshop Basics. PEN AND MASK.

I can't tell you how much fun these have been to make! I have been so flat out busy that I have been neglecting this little blog (sadness) so the fact that I can whip up a tutorial in half an hour makes blogging easier at the moment. Plus making pretty things for you all is a nice change from the endless sea of paperwork I find myself in; man, becoming a teacher is tricky, and getting my British Passport is even trickier! I want to give a shootout to Becky from Becky Bedbug for her insight into the British education system, was great to hear first hand from a teacher. Plus her blog is pretty rad.
I promise more outfit photos and other little goodies very soon (I have a package on it's way with some new clothes!) but until then I hope this tutorial satisfied your need for pretty things.
Like I said, I am going through the things that I never learned, so I am really no expert, but I hope I can give you some ideas for using this intimidating program with all its many bells and whistles. So let's get into it with a quick look at the Pen Tool and Clipping Masks.

Life + Style. Memories

This is one of my favourite photos from my childhood. Me and my sister sitting on the front steps of our house after raiding the dress up box big time. We always had the most amazing clothes to choose from, most of which my Mum had made. I can't remember my Mum ever wearing heels, but these were hers so I guess she must have at some point; I'd kill for these diamond cutout nude ankle strap shoes now. I especially love the look  on my sisters face, it is feigned arrogance, we must have been pretending to be posh ladies. Posh ladies who wear hot pink socks with open toed shoes and garish 80s looking animal print purses that is.

{Life} One Hundred Thank You's + A le'LOVE Blogging Event

ONE HUNDRED POSTS. I can't believe it!
I have had a tendency to start things and not finish them or push them to their highest potential. I am determined that this blog is going to be the end of that. I am motivated to push le'LOVE to be the best it can be, and for me that means quality content posted often and amazing readers and followers. So far I feel pretty good about my content, but you know my favourite part of my blogging experience so far? You. If you are here reading this, you are one of my favourite and most cherished people in the world.

Why? Because I am someone who has struggled with confidence for a long time, and in the three or so months since starting this little blog, my self belief and self confidence has grown immeasurably. When someone comments on my blog I feel so very thrilled and that little bit of happiness stays with me all day. I am serious; ALL DAY.

So I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks for taking a little piece of your time to visit my little piece of the web. I hope you genuinely like what you see when you visit le'LOVE and I hope that it only gets better from here.

Specifically I'd like to say thanks to my Mum (hey Mum!), Kaelah Bee and her wonderfully helpful e-book, Melon Heart for her excellent guest post and responding to my random tweets, Kate Gabrielle for being awesome and having such great sponsorship options (seriously, go and sponsor her, she is brilliant), Becky, Jen, and Dayle for leaving such amazing comments so often.

Please share your 'One Hundred Thank You's' post below! I can't wait to read what you have come up with.

{Fashion} Trends on Trial + Red Carpet Missteps

Trends I don't love I love fashion. If I let myself, I'd spend way more money on fashion magazines than conceivable. I like to know what's happening out there in the murky depths that is the fashion industry. I read many, many style blogs, am religiously addicted to Go Fug Yourself  and an embarrassing amount of my time on the computer is spent on virtual shopping trips I could never afford to fund.
Lately, however, I have been seeing a few sartorial adventures (mishaps really) that make me feel ill. It bugs me no end when attractive people with good genes and figures I would almost kill for, sink the soufflé with UGGO clothes that do nothing for them. I mean, C'MON? Did you not look at yourself before you left the house? I have managed to narrow these missteps down to five but god knows there are more. With award shows clogging the waves, what better to illustrate my point than red carpet pics?

{Fashion} If I had a Million Dollars I'd be Wearing

Well not really a million dollars, just markedly more cash than I have now really. I am very broke and very busy which means I haven't made any clothes of late and haven't been able to shop, a combination I am less than thrilled about. I have major plans for sewing during my measly month off uni, but what's a bet I lie around blogging and reading instead? I hardly get any time off study because I have studied over summer these last two years. I forget what a holiday feels like really. Oh well, that is enough whining. Let's look at these pretties instead.
